Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
A kid-friendly winery with outdoor seating. Bring your own basket of snacks. Vine bushes are there, unfortunately no grapes in November. 5 wine tastings for $12 (not a full glass, still a good deal). I bought a red blend, and a Chardonnay bottles.
This place, on paper, shouldn't work. An ex Nvidia engineer decides to move to San Diego and buys a small, local winery off the internet... 6 years later this place is a treasure of San Marcos. Every single wine we've tasted is very good. Every one is different. So it's about what you like, not what's good. We took home the Malbec and the 2013 Cabernet Franc. We'll be back for more!
Had the whites and a few meads here today. Absolutely loved the top two whites and the tortuga. Staff is super friendly and found the place affordable. If ever back in the area, I'd definitely be back.
The wine maker Malcom was in the tasting room when we were there. He is fantastic very personable telling us all about the winery. The tasting was great all of the wines we tasted were top of the line. We did the reds. Price was good about $25 per bottle and well worth the price. I have done wine tasting all over the US and this was one of the best.
Run by a wonderful family that will welcome yours with open arms. We became members after coming here quite a few times and felt it was only place for us. Games for kids and outdoor seating with a view of their vineyard. They have no problem talking about their process and showing you how they make their great tasting wines as well.
