Great beers and atmosphere. The bartender was super good people and they have a pool table. Good tunes and the food was great wish I would have found Bay City our first night in town. I highly recommend checking it out.
Super cool rooftop area and the Friday happy hour special of 50% entire tab is insane. Food was alright, a little underwhelming but for the half off price can't complain.
Great rooftop bar with a nice view of Petco Park and the best happy hours in downtown/East Village. My wife and I stumbled onto this place during the holidays and wished we found it sooner. Welcoming and chill atmosphere with an awesome staff, especially Taylor who gave us great recommendations for things in the area (and talked some great football...Go Pack Go!) The coffee martini on nitro they had during the holidays was delicious, the chicken wrap is huge, and we loved every beer we tried. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area.
TL;DR: This is a local spot you have to try! Whether you are in search of your new favorite watering hole or if you are just passing through and want a delicious bite to eat paired with a quality beer, this is your place! I have been staying in the area for only a week, but I have found myself here almost every day. Both the beer list and the food menu are concise but powerfully delicious, offering something for most everyone to come out and enjoy their time! They offer custom flights of any of their drafts you want to sample, which might be the hardest decision for beer lovers who stop by. The bartenders I’ve met are Keegan, Andrea, Derek, and Daniel, all of whom were incredibly polite and quick with service and recommendations! MORE DETAILS: In the multiple days I have stopped by the rooftop, I have seen families enjoying the sunshine with their kids laughing and playing, which was more than welcomed by the staff; dogs welcomed, too! This spot is hip and new, provides fast and friendly service, and offers a great location for meeting up with friends and mingling with others. My favorite things to learn about this bar is their seasonal beer options and rotating “festivals” of different craft brews. It’s super cool to know that they keep things fresh and new all year long! On the day of this review they are featuring an outgoing set of flavored Gambino Imperial Stouts, but don’t get caught up on that because it’s only a one day opportunity! This makes it a worthwhile place to keep up with so you can come by anytime they are doing one of their unique and limited time events! They also have rotating slushy flavors (while supplies last), their current flavors are Blueberry Lemon Drop and Spicy Mango Margarita. I tried the wedge salad and the pepperoni pizza and I truly loved both! The salad is an excellent balance of flavors that really make it pop as a refreshing and lite option. I was very satisfied with the freshness of every ingredient, but the bacon bits stood out the most as real chopped pieces of bacon, and not just little crumble bits from a bag. I believe it comes garnished with cilantro, which I love, and they didn’t go light on the blue cheese crumbles either. A+ salad! The pepperoni pizza really caught me off guard with how well made it was. It’s hard to be upset with a classic like pep pizza, but the robust flavors really makes it a great choice! The crust comes out crispy on the ends and fluffy in the middle, making it more Sicilian style. Between the tomato sauce and the cheese, the seasoned flavors of herbs and spices really pop and make every bite a delicious experience. Even the crust ends are worth every bite with flavors baked into a satisfying crunch. A++ pizza! Both IPAs I had were delicious, smooth, and refreshing! I also tried the Crushing Tiger which is an Asian Style Lager made with rice alcohol which was light but very tasty. The downstairs is a great place to stop by all week, with TVs playing the major games, an outdoor patio, and a billiards table with $1 games, you can find yourself feeling like you are at a friend’s house just hanging out and enjoying the day! The rooftop bar is at least 3x the size of the downstairs with shaded and sun seating options; bar and food service; TVs and 2 big projectors on either side; and a beautiful view of the surrounding downtown area. The rooftop is weather permitting, and the only bummer is that during the cold seasons it is usually only open on the weekends. But during the summer it can be an any day opportunity! I also learned that the location can be reserved for any special events like weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. I would heavily consider this spot if I was looking to plan a larger event. I highly recommend anyone to stop by this wonderful bar, solo or as a group, for a very enjoyable time, brew, and bite to eat! this is an absolute must visit for the positive customer service, food and most importantly the beer! my partner and i had a total of 2 beers each (4 different total) and each one was delicious. we visited around lunch time and were taken care of by "elizabeth" who was an absolute superstar when it came to suggestions on beers and food options to order as well. i also highly suggest making your way to the rooftop for the view and a whole other bar with a very spacious seating area. this is definitely going to be on our "must visit" list when we come back to San Diego in the future.
