Is this your business?
Beyond their size, small businesses are defined by their spirit. And at the helm are their intrepid founders—scrappy, ambitious, and resilient. They invent and build things despite uncertainty, because it’s what drives them. Their risks lead to innovation that moves the world forward. And we need them.
Flew into SD and this was our first stop for our long weekend adventure. We initially chose this place since we love a great brewery and my husband has had their beers before. He really enjoyed it in the past and wanted to try them again. I was surprised to find parking immediately, they have a row of parking right next to the brewery. The brewery it self is large and very kid friendly. It's open seating and have plenty seats for everyone. It's very lively and saw that they had a patio for those warmer days. You place your order at the counter for food and beer. They had a great selection of food but wished we ordered more of a variety to try them all. We ordered their wings naked with sauce on the side and by far they are the best wings we ever had. My boys devoured them in seconds. We also had their nachos. I wish they had more toppings to it..it was a little too plain for my liking. We also had the audio fries. It was good in theory but wished they used less cheese. But overall everything was great. I ordered their micheleda and wasn't a huge fan of it, I definitely need to head back to try their other stuff.
Came here today sept 19 2024 for lunch and beer. Nice outside patio and very large expansive inside with many taps. Lunch special of a burger, side and soft drink for $18 is a great value. I decided to have truffle fries for $2 extra. My lunch was very good. For beer I had a Kraken an imperial IPA which was a west coast style IPA. It is piney. Staff was very nice. Order at bar and you get a number take a seat inside or outside and your meal will arrive like magic!
We visited this location before we waited for our delayed flight home and the difference between this location and the one in Miramar is very substantial. This location is considerably smaller but more centrally located. Maybe it was just my 2 Ballast point experiences but it felt like the employees had a chip on their shoulders, as if their brewery was better than the rest, which is fine, but that same energy felt like it was pushed on the customers, almost forced. It was just a strange experience. We ordered the Ahi Tuna poké, which I was very excited about, and was a massive let down. Using oddly shaved cucumber instead of avocado was interesting, but the fact that they use a hoisin instead of a chili sauce or something less pronounced, the cucumber made sense. That wasn't the problem I had with this dish though, the problem I had was that they POURED the hoisin in, it was more of a soup than poké. Every other flavor was drowned out by the overwhelming punch of hoisin, and was a waste of fish. The dish looked like an oil spill in the ocean, killing this poor Tuna. Please, please change this dish. Otherwise, I am still a huge fan of the beer, and will continue to drink it!
We had a great time at Ballast Point in little Italy, San Diego. Tried a couple different flights of beers and some truffle fries! Staff member was very helpful by suggesting which beers to add to my flights that were tasty!
Tasty beer and a great selection. Friendly beertenders. Spacious indoor area. Pretzel bites are delicious!
